Edmonton motorcycle accident lawyer referrals

After a motorcycle collision, focus on care and preserving the information needed to understand what happened. A rider’s injuries or choice of vehicle do not replace a factual assessment of the collision.

Preserve useful evidence

  • Keep photos of the scene, motorcycle, protective equipment and relevant road conditions if they were safely obtained.
  • Save witness details, dashcam information and the collision-report number. Do not alter original files.
  • Keep damaged equipment until you have advice about inspection and preservation.
  • Record symptoms and practical effects on work, transport and daily tasks accurately, including improvements.

Check the policy rather than assuming coverage

Ask the insurer for the policy and endorsements that applied on the accident date. Accident benefits, liability coverage and any family-protection or other optional endorsement have different purposes and conditions.

We do not represent uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage as automatically included in every motorcycle policy. If a driver is unidentified or uninsured, MVAC has specific eligibility rules and notice issues; it is not a universal substitute for insurance.

Prepare for the first conversation

Bring the collision date, parties involved, available insurance details and any correspondence or offer. If the collision happened while working, mention that so the WCB question is not missed. A lawyer can explain how fault, causation and the evidence affect the possible claim.

Questions about this type of injury

Does helmet use determine the whole claim? Tell the lawyer the facts about protective equipment and preserve it where relevant. Its significance depends on the circumstances and evidence; a webpage cannot assign an automatic percentage or decide the case.

What if the driver says the rider caused the collision? Save the actual allegation and identify photographs, witnesses and vehicle positions. A stereotype about riders does not replace an assessment of the evidence.

What if the collision involved a road defect? Record the precise place and condition and any available report or photograph. The responsible party and possible notice requirements need investigation; do not assume every hazard has the same legal route.

Are motorcycle settlements always higher? No reliable amount follows from the vehicle type alone. Injury effects, proof of loss, responsibility and coverage matter. Our referral form does not produce a financial estimate.

Will I have to testify? Ask the lawyer what steps may be needed if a claim is pursued. Do not rely on a promised settlement to avoid discussing questioning or trial preparation.
